WATCH: BC’s transportation ministry is speaking out about a metal bump on the Lions Gate Bridge that is causing all kinds of traffic chaos. Linda Aylesworth reports. A metal bump on the Lions Gate Bridge has caused traffic chaos all week and it was supposed to be fixed this morning but traffic slowdowns are still happening. The Ministry of Transportation said there was work done on the bump last night and while progress was made, more work still needs to be done. Travellers have been slowing down after some repair work recently done by the Ministry of Transportation and it has been causing traffic chaos and long delays. Crews were working on the bridge overnight on Thursday but some vehicles are still slowing down at the bump Friday morning. TransLink says on Friday, buses will be returning to their regular route and crossing the bridge. On Thursday, TransLink stopped all buses going over the bridge and diverted service to the the Seabus terminal at Lonsdale Quay or Waterfront station. However, due to the increase in volume, passengers were waiting in long lines at the Seabus terminal. West Vancouver buses were not affected. The Ministry of Transportation originally told Global News it is safe to drive over at regular speeds. In a statement, they said:
